Our Philosophy
Vira Lata, is the word for “Street Dog” in Brazilian Portuguese. Literally meaning, “turning cans,” as it represents the street dogs survival searching for food on the streets of urban areas. It can also be used to describe a dog of mixed breeds.

Our Story
GABRIELLA, A SINGLE MOM, BUSINESS OWNER + SERIAL ENTREPRENEUR, CREATED VIRA LATA WITH HEALTH + HARMONY IN MIND. She started her first natural line of skincare in 2004, combining ingredients intuitively.
in 2014 she opened her first pet grooming salon with her then husband + business parter, and quickly became driven to combine her passion for natural skincare + wellness into the pet industry. While her business partner was not keen on the idea, she put her plans on hold.
in 2019 when the couple separated they divided their multiple pet salon locations, she rebranded her location and incorporated her products into her salon, Zen Animals, creating NYC’s first holistic Pet Spa, featuring Vira Lata’s organic products.
